On Thursday October 20th at 10:20am, millions of people all over California will practice what to do in the case of an earthquake. The answer is pretty simple: DROP, COVER, and HOLD ON. Take a moment and register for the Great California ShakeOut. It’s the easiest and most life-saving step of your disaster preparedness.
Totally Unprepared team member Sarah Imber Safdar tells us she’s likely to be at the her favorite local coffee shop, the Jerusalem Cafe, in the Inner Sunset neighborhood of San Francisco. (They make very strong coffee) Though she often sits outside, it’s not safe to try and run into a doorway or change venues. Just get as safe as possible where you are. The table is small, but she’s doing her best to get under it and you can see she’d holding onto the table to keep it from moving away from her.
