Hey You, Bossy Pants, Get CERT Trained

Totally Unprepared's Susan Jekarl at a CERT-sponsored training event
Do you like to make decisions that affect others or feel a desire to help others?
Do you think of yourself as a can-do kind of person?
Or are you just bossy?
When the pedal meets the metal, the truly can-do get CERT trained.
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training is a free emergency response training program offered through city and county governments.
It is also one of the best ways to get yourself prepared for an earthquake. Your CERT training will help you and your neighborhood survive an earthquake better, and you will be equipped to help your loved ones and friends to recover.
Getting certified as a disaster response volunteer can help take the worry about getting ready for the next big quake, and will put you in touch with like-minded neighbors who are people you can rely on if an earthquake happens.
Our very own Susan Jekarl has been through the program in her hometown, and is an avid volunteer with her CERT team. You could become just as earthquake prepared as Susan, though you won’t need to dye your hair purple to participate.
There are CERT programs throughout California, and in fact, all over the United States. You can find your community CERT organization by looking through CitizenCorps‘ California CERT listing
Sign up for a CERT training class today and flex those bossy muscles for good, not evil.
