So Many Earthquake Kits To Choose From!

What's in YOUR earthquake kit?
A look through websites such as Google or Amazon.com will turn up dozens of different emergency preparedness kits. What is right for you?
Keeping in mind that your earthquake kit should contain enough water to keep you happy and healthy for at minimum three days, what is your best option?
It is entirely possible that you already own most of what you need, so don’t spend money on things you already own. What’s important to remember is that the more you prepare, the better you will survive an earthquake unharmed. It will also be much easier to recover once its over.
Consider the fact that your personal work gloves, tools, sleeping bags, and bags/backpacks may be more suitable for your needs than whatever is found in a generic earthquake kit.
Take a minute to think who will be relying on your disaster kit? If two adults and two children are relying on it, one blanket will not suffice, nor will one set of work gloves.
If you have a pet, make sure to think about them when you plan for an earthquake.
Lastly, become familiar with the contents of your disaster kit and the uses of what it contains. You do not want to be forced to read tiny print instructions by flashlight before using the contents.
Use this link to Google shopping to search for pre-made earthquake kits to buy.
If you’d rather make your own earthquake kit from scratch, we can help you do that. Our Get Ready Quick section has detailed suggestions for creating: earthquake kits for yourself, your home, and your pets. You can make your kit a family project. Just figure out what you need and get everyone together one Saturday afternoon to pack it all up. Won’t that be fun?

In case, you don’t have the time to make your own kit or you find it hard to keep up with which items in your kit have expired, you should really check out this company, PrepareUs.
Their ready made kits include the FEMA, Red Cross, and CERT approved/suggested items. Kits also include a step by step guide on how to prepare your family using all the information out there by FEMA, Red Cross and CERT.
But the best part about their quality product is the refill system! When items have expired, they’ll alert you of the items’ expiration and then send them to you at cost. So it’ll be the first AND last kit you’ll ever have to worry about.
I’ve tried really hard to find similar companies in the Bay Area (CA) with refill systems and quality products but no one else compares. So check them out on their website, http://www.prepareustoday.com!
Hi Kelsey,
I tried the link and also tried google’ing PrepareUs but it’s not giving me any links to the site. do you have their contact number?
Thanks
Thank you for informing us this information, specifically how to manage our kits on disasters. I find your article useful enough, specially that i included emergency kit on my grocery list, hoping that those kits are high quality. I really appreciate your efforts.
I purchased one of prepareus’s packages from this link and it came in 3 days!
Not only were the items inside better quality than anything I have ever seen, but I also used their guide with my family and was able to fix things around the home and make real plans to reunite using their week plan.
Also, their refill system is great, I will never worry about buying the stuff that expired.
sup supurb article, this really has me awesome when me see it.
Unquestionably believe that which you said. Your favorite
justification seemed to be on the internet the easiest thing to be aware of.
I say to you, I definitely get irked while people think about worries that they
just do not know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out the whole thing without having
side-effects , people could take a signal. Will probably be back
to get more. Thanks
